Assessment

Q

Heading 4

(1) Research options for power and energy management systems that can help you reduce costs, improve operational efficiency. Look into power factor correction, voltage stabilization, harmonic filtering, reactive power compensation.
(2) Perform an audit to identify the power quality of your current facility. Identify the equipment or products based on power reliability, quality, and energy use. How stable and clean is your power? That is are there disruptive voltage fluctuations, equipment malfunctions, complete power shutdowns? Take a Power Quality IQ test.
(2) Evaluate the frequency of disposal of equipment, the current methods of disposal, and gaps for improvement

Opportunity

Heading 4

Business:
Reduced utility and operating costs while minimizing downtime to fix equipment

Sustainability:
Improved energy efficiency, less waste of premature aging of equipment.

Strategy Build & Execution

Heading 4

(1) Establish the goals and targets that would fit your organization's gaps in adopting a sustainable initiative.
(2) Assess to identify whether making the switch to buying power management/energy management solutions is feasible for your company based on goals recognized.
(3) Identify and decide on the most viable sustainable energy management solution of choice for your organization (based on size and capital available to the cause).
(4) Based on the potential energy management solution suppliers identified, select a supplier to proceed
(5) Align employees towards the sustainability initiative and have them on board by explaining benefits and potential sacrifice in quality that comes with adopting the initiative.
(6) Award contract and implement the initiative.
(7) Monitor and keep track of power quality IQ and frequency of disposal of equipment.

Supplier Negotiation & Contract

Heading 4

(1) The inclusion of a warranty clause with guaranteed quality during the contract establishment, as the alternative, might fail to meet the standard requirements.
(2) Ensure that suppliers apply and qualify for the energy star efficient equipment, and this confirmation needs to be monitored.

Supplier Performance & Management

Heading 4

Perform annual Supplier Relationship Review and are required for sustainability reporting in yearly reviews. Maintain records of turnaround time, takeback program profit and loss reporting, purchasing and operational cost, the lifespan of equipment/software updates, and inventory variations.

Perform an internal review after the program has been implemented to evaluate the operational impact of new equipment/software and environmental impact; compare to historical data.
